The Black Dog by Kaitlyn Fields

Winter is when he likes to visit
Days when only darkness exists
When it comes to sadness, he’s a bigot
Refusing to let light be missed
My mind doesn’t like to admit it
But sorrow will always persist
I can’t seem to dim it
Me and the black dog must co-exist
I’ve learned he has no limit
In no way can he be dismissed
So I sit with him each minute
Why should I resist
For he is infinite
My smile will be reminisced
His gain is my deficit
Therefore I will fall in his abyss
